Flats

Our flat cold-drawn steels

Cold-drawn +C

3/16″ x 1/8″ to 12″ x 2″
Thickness Max 3″

Fortis Metals offers cold drawn flat bar that are sourced from either coil or bar. The available sizes range from 3/16″ x 1/8″ to 12″ x 2″, with a maximum thickness of 3″. Our cold roll and cold finished products are known for their superior tensile strength and yield strength compared to hot rolled alternatives.

These cold drawn flats typically feature sharp edges and are provided in their natural state. However, Fortis Metals utilizes advanced equipment to offer products with specific heat treatments (stress relieving, annealing, normalization, quenching, and tempering) and performs automatic ultrasonic control on each individual bar.

In addition to cold drawn flat bar, we also offer hot rolled flat bar and hot rolled steel flat bar options for various applications. Our hot rolled products are made to meet the highest standards, ensuring high carbon and higher tensile strength.

Our carbon steel flat bar meets ASTM A36 specifications, which is a carbon steel with good structural qualities, making it ideal for construction and industrial uses. This carbon steel flat offers good case hardening qualities and is often used in applications requiring high carbon content.

Fortis Metals specializes in carbon steel flat bar and steel flat bar products, providing a wide range of carbon steel options to suit various needs. Our inventory includes carbon steel with good strength and good case hardening qualities.

We also offer rolled steel products in various forms, including hot rolled and cold finished. Our cold roll and hot rolled steel flat bar products are ideal for a variety of applications due to their high tensile strength and yield strength.

On request, bars can be supplied in surface class 2.

We can provide steel flats according to customer specifications or with special shapes (such as radius corners, round edges, or custom shapes; visit our special profiles section).

Commercial lengths are available in RL 12FT, with fixed lengths available upon request.
